Marlins hire Girardi

Postby Amazinz » Wed Oct 19, 2005 7:38 pm

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Why do I think this will not work out well?

Give up on the catcher idea! Especially the crappy ones!

I don't think Girardi will put up with any crap from Cabrera. He's been around the block and worked with plenty of divas during his time in NY so I think he'll be fine with Cabrera. I actually think the perfect manager for Cabrera would be Frank Robinson (I know he's under contract and everything) but I just believe that Cabrera would really respond to a guy who worked hard during his career and put up great numbers.

I wonder what this will do to the value of Juan Pierre's SB numbers....I have to think Joe will let him run much more frequently than Jack....Might spell a big year for Pierre if he can get on base at a etter rate.

He wasn't the best catcher in the world but I think he'll be decent.
