I don't think the comparisons to Adam Dunn are quite valid, simply because Dunn's plate discipline is much better. Swisher doesn't walk enough to justify the amount he strikes out. The A's are committed to giving him a shot in 06 however I think he might be on a rather short leash.
Last year Bobby Crosby hit .239 as a rookie. A bunch of people said he'd never hit for a decent average. This year he went up to .276. Is there something in swisher's minor league record to suggest he won't do the same?
