What's your favorite music?

Very nice. ;-D :-D

I like just about everything. It's easier to list what I don't like. Let's see .... what I call modern "country" is awful to me. It's pop fluff (excluding Dwight Yoakam).

What's called "R&B" now is NOT rhythm and blues, it's total garbage. Marvin Gaye has been spinning in his grave since the mid 1990s, at least.

I no longer listen to rap that much but I don't hate it completely. The gangsta crap got old fast, but I still buy some of the old-school guys if they come out with something new (which is rare).

I was a total metal head as a kid but today's metal is lacking in my opinion.

As far as classical, I like Mozart, of course, and I like Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 (I think; whatever NBC uses as its Olympics theme. The entire piece is powerful). Other than that, I don't have much patience for classical music. I guess that's it.

80's, baby... ;-D I love the stuff that got played back in the Early MTV days. It's just my thing... brings back great memories and makes me happpy. ;-D

I also like later-70s rock that pre-dates MTV... Bob Seger, J. Geils Band, some Springsteen.... stuff like that.

I know, I know..... I'm old. :-)

Call me a loser, but I'm actually a fan of the Romantic classical music. Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff are my three favorite from any time period including our own.

I dig me some Bach and Mozart now and again. And Brahms. ;-D Liszt isn't bad, but Rachmaninoff is pretty good. My girl studied classical piano in college, and Liszt is one of her faves.

Underground hiphop rules. Mainstream hiphop sucks.

Real, old-fashioned, blues-derivative rock and roll rules. Southern rock and '60s psychedelic rock particularly rule. Guitar pop masquerading as rock and roll sucks.

Grunge rock rules. Nu Metal sucks.

Pantera post-hair rules. Hair bands suck.

Old-time bluegrass rules. Modern day, super-slick, over-produced "country" music sucks.

Punk rock rules. Hardcore rules even more. ;-D

The Grateful Dead rules. Phish is kinda okay sometimes. Many jambands rule, while others suck. Sector 9 rules. Laketrout sucks.

Miles Davis, John Coltrane and John Medeski rule.

David Byrne and Springsteen rule. Most other things from the '80s suck.

I think that covers everything....

I'll give you three guesses. ;-7

I'm really picky when it comes to music, but I like pretty much all classic rock. If it's older than me, there's good chance I'll like it. :-D There is some new rock music that I kinda like, but not a whole lot really.

70's, 60's, 80's Classic Rock in that order. The late 90's had some decent rock as well but it was spotty for the most part. Rap makes me want to puke and if Country Music wasn't so christian southern righty I'd probably listen to some of that too.

Yes... yes I do :-)

I like a ton of metal. The faster and more technically complicated the better! On the other hand, I like the more tribal heavy music too- bands like Neurosis and Isis for example.

I think of all the members my musical tastes would probably correspond with WharfRat's the most. I agree with all the above statements, especially the ones about punk and Hardcore- I can't get enough of those genres.

I think my three all-time favorite albums would be-

1) Image

(I got into this band in high school and my musical tastes have never recovered)

2) Image

3) Image

4) would be Tool: Undertow..

I do like some weird and messed up music, but at the same time I love artists like Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin... I'm a self-described music junkie- I own more CDs and records than I'd care to admit :-b

As you can see I enjoy talking about music too ;-D
