waiver priority

Can someone tells me what the term "waiver priority" means and how it works. Also how do you know what number you are in waiver priority. I'm in Yahoo Public Roto is there anyway to find out what your waiver priority is in these leagues?

Waiver priority is listed under the team and manager info. on the league overview page at yahoo.

Waiver priority is the list of who gets first choice of a player who has been dropped. Let's say it's a 12 team league and Tori Hunter is dropped by a team. Hunter goes on waivers. If the team with the #1 priority wants him then they will put in a claim and get him. If they don't want him and the team with the #2 priority claims him then they get him. It goes all the way down to #12 and if no one claims the player then the player becomes a free agent. If the player is claimed off waivers, then the team that claimed him drops to #12 on the waiver priority list and everyone else moves up one slot. Say the #3 team claims Hunter. #4 moves up to #3, #5 moves up to #4, and so on. The team that had #3 and claimed Hunter falls to the bottom of the list at #12.

Hope that helps.

Madison: but how is it determined -- who gets 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on?

Whoever drafted last at the beginning of the year begins the year with #1 waiver priority. 2nd last gets #2 priority and so on.

You may have drafted Soriano, but you're going to pay for it by getting last priority.

In Yahoo, on the left of the League Overview Main Page, click on 'Team & Manager List' and you'll see who has what priority.

Hope it helps O:-)
