That hearing was 5 months ago, I doubt this latest test can prove he took it before that.

I agree. The public needed a high-profile player to be charged so we know that everyone is treated equally. The MLB needed it as a slap in the face that baseball is NOT a perfect game that runs itself. Rules need to be imposed and used, and it's a good thing that it's happening.

As ESPN notes, and I forgot this, Canseco said he injected Raffy before. Funny to see a scumbag like Jose getting vindicated by the fall of one of the most respected players.

How long do steroids stay in the system?

He'd have a hard time convincing anyone that he started taking steroids the year the PE policy was put into place...

The hearings were in March so I don't see how it could be proven he took steroids prior to saying he didn't under oath.

I can't imagine the test he took was prior to March and he is getting suspended now. He is screwed in terms of his baseball career and career after baseball (no one would touch him for commentary/color analyst/endorsements) but legally, he probably can't be touched.
