Help me make a run to the top

Postby bdm72 » Fri Jul 29, 2005 3:38 pm

12 team 5X5 roto. Currently in 2nd place but pretty far behind the leader (16 pts) I am strong on offense, wins, K's, need serious help with ERA, WHIP, and saves. I could make a run if I get those two categories down...way down.

Here's my roster:

C: Mauer
1B: Pujols
2B: Kent
3B: Hillenbrand
SS: M. Young
OF: G. Anderson, J. Dye, J. Pierre
Util: Ortiz
BN: Chipper, L. Walker
SP: Benson, Patterson, C.Zam, Schilling, Weaver, Rogers, Wood
RP/P: Rietsma, T. Jones, Dempster, Fuentes

Any suggestions for trades that I could offer, or moves I could make to get a low ERA/WHIP ace would be appreciated.

Here is the roster of the team that is stacked at SP:

C: Lo Duca
1: Sweeny
2: Roberts
3: Beltre
SS: Rollins
OF: Pods, Floyd, Ramirez
Util: Hunter
BN: Reyes
SP:Jo. Santana, D. Willis, Pedro, Harden, Garland, Sheets, Beckett, Eaton
RP: Hermanson, Turnbow, Wickman

You have to give up something to get something so go for the gold. I think Chipper could put up decent numbers from here on out so trade Ortiz for Sheets. He might bite becaus he has sweeny at first and could use the upgrade.

All that talk of Kerry Wood going to the pen makes me nervous. See if you can trade him for anything. Even package him with Ortiz to get Pedro. Since the guy is stacked in pitching maybe he will go for it and hope Wood is a factor for the stretch run.

The SP stacked team just lost Hunter, so I might trying offering up Chipper for Sheets.
