Larry Walker 2nd half outlook?

Postby jellyroll » Mon Jul 11, 2005 7:55 pm

He's shown some life over the last month

is 15-18 hr .280 feasible in the 2nd half or is he just done and doesn't know it. That hr in Pacbell park was a monster.

I think 15 to 18 might be on the high side but it wouldnt suprise me if he put up decent numbers from here on out.
There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I think you're overshooting. I think Larry has maybe another 10-12 MAX homers left in his bat this year. I wouldn't put him over his current .270 for the 2nd half, either. Keep in mind he isn't playing 100% of the time, either. Only 219 AB in the first half.

i agree w/highort..his inuries will keep his ABs down and the cardinals will have no reason to play him in september .. i see 8 to 10 HRs w/30-35 rbi .275 BA and 2 SBs

He still looks frustrated at the plate. Plus he isn't going to play all the time. I don't think he is worth it.

That's pretty much how I feel too. I think he'd be lucky to crack double digits in terms of HR in the second half because they will really save him down the stretch for the playoffs I would imagine.
