Looking for Cheap Saves? Keep an Eye on Borowski

The Rays are apparently hoping to sign JoBo today as they continue to shop Baez to a contender.

If a Baez trade materializes JoBo could be high-risk, bargin-basement closer.

I dunno, even if he's saving games Borowski will be very hazardous to your ERA and WHIP :-o :-o

WOW!

Great, now he can wreck your fantasy squads ERA/WHIP all while getting even fewer chances to blow games then he did in Chicago!

Joe Borowski will never be an effective closer again. He could be a setup guy man for like 2 teams in baseball. My bet is he isn't in the league for another 2 years.

He's been pitching in the 85-87 MPH range for the Cubbies since spring training 2004. I saw a report he was back throwing in the low 90's and I can simply tell you that that is flat out not true.

Regardless -- he has now officially signed with the Rays. We'll see if he gets a shot at closing if Baez moves on. It won't be pretty if he does.
