Ollie Perez- Called the bad start, the 4 or 5 start period where it would appear he was back on track, and then tail off again.

made two bets with two different friends. first, said friend didn't think jeff kent could knock in over 100 RBI's. next another friend said carl crawford would hit 20 homeruns. I went with the under. each bet was for a six pack.

All of my sleepers are sleeping on waivers. (except for Hillenbrand) Fortunately, their replacements, Mench, Ibanez, Sizemore, Weeks, Ensberg, others are keeping me in 1st place in most of my leagues. Biggest bust as a sleeper Overbay.

My only real prediction that I made here at the Cafe was that the Marlins are going to win the World Series. Now...if only they could get to the playoffs...

I think I had Giambi at .280 25 90. Looks decent right now.

Alex Rodriguez hits 40 HR... on pace so far
He has a better fantasy season than Tejada...check

Before the season I predicted:

AL Playoff teams: New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Boston Red Sox

NL Playoff teams: Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins

World Series: New York Yankees over St. Louis Cardinals in 7 games.

AL MVP- Vladimir Guerrero, LAA
AL Cy- Randy Johnson, NYY
AL Relief- Mariano Rivera, NYY
AL ROY- Huston Street, OAK
Breakout Player- Travis Hafner, CLE
Comeback Player- Jason Giambi, NYY
Manager of the Year- Eric Wedge, CLE

NL MVP- Albert Pujols, StL
NL Cy- Tim Hudson, ATL
NL Relief- Brad Lidge, HOU
NL ROY- JD Closser, COL
Breakout Player- AJ Burnett, FLA
Comeback Player- Shawn Green, ARI
Manager of the Year- Bruce Bochey, SD

They look ok. RJ, Hudson, Closser are obviously wrong and Cleveland winning the Central is probably wrong as well. There are several things I'd change but not too awful...

Preseason Predictions:

ANA over CWS
NYY over TEX
ANA over NYY

STL over ATL
CHC over SDP
CHC over STL

World Series ANA over CHC in 6

So far so good. Need NY and TEX to pick up the pace a little but not too worried yet.

AL MVP - A-Rod
AL Cy Young - RJ
AL ROY - Dallas McPherson

NL Bonds Award - Bonds
NL Cy Young - Pedro
NL ROY - Chris Burke

Going to take some breakout performances for my ROY candidates to come through but not impossible. No one is really running away with the award yet. Bonds should be able to play 45 games this year and win the annual Bonds award and A-Rod/Pedro are looking like a solid votes.

From the VKC draft chat: "As far as my OF goes the guy nobody else likes is actually one of my favorite buys. 2005 Dye = 2004 Dunn. "
Dye on Pace: .270 BA 38 HR 90 RBI 84 R 12 SB
2004 Dunn: .266 BA 46 HR 102 RBI 105 R 6 SB

Dye not too far behind, even moreso considering the absolutely horrid first month of the season he had. Very makeable.

And then it gets bad when it comes to predicting my hometown team and who would lead the club in major cats.
"I'll be somewhat of a pessimist, I really have zero confidence in this offense. With a young pitching staff that makes for a dangerous combination. On the plus side I think Sweeney makes it through the relatively uninjured.

65 wins (avoiding the 100 loss season at least )

BA Sweeney .315
HR Sweeney 30
RBI Sweeney 105
SB Berroa 25

Grienke 12 wins 4.10 ERA"

65 wins.... not a chance
Looking solid on the Sweeney BA and HR numbers.
Big miss on the RBI total, Berroa's comeback season, Sweeney remaining healthy and Grienke falling into some wins. Oh well.
