Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

I think he'll do nothing this year. Get a 1-year deal somewhere after this year and retire after the 2006 season.
I believe the productive part of his career is over.
1.Roger>Randy this year; 2.New Yankee SP's = BUST! (again); 3. Bernie will cover the least amount of ground of any CF in baseball for 4th straight yr.; 4. Yanks = stuck with Giambi's contract; 5. Loaiza > any SP signed in offseason by Yankees.
cant see the o's designating sosa, but u never know... if sosa was at least a team player in the clubhouse, then the orioles could probably afford to just bench him for awhile,,, but sosa's past does not really show him being a big time team player
Agree with what 04 said -- it seems to take about 2 seasons for the post roids cheaters to devolve to their natural playing level. For some of the older guys, it's a Wile E. Coyote-like fall off the cliff. Good riddance.
I don't know whether or not he used steroids, but Sosa's drop-off, however, has nothing in it that resembles Wile. He's been steadily declining since 2001, so his decline looks a lot like normal aging, perhaps augmented by the effects of his beaning.
I think Sammy will finish the season with the O's as a part-time player and will be looking foir another team next year. The only thing of any value the O's lost is the money they are paying him this year. The Cubs gave him up for nothing.
Now the question becomes, who will be dumb enough to take him next year. Someone will, thinking they can catch lightning in a bottle.
