I Just Bet $100 Brian Roberts

Postby dorje3 » Wed Jun 29, 2005 4:57 am

Will finish the 2005 season ranked higher than 25 by Yahoo standards.
I prosposed the bet to my entire league as result of trading frustration.
Recently a manager rejected my Roberts for his Reyes.
Is this a terrible bet?
What would your Yahoo Season Rank over/under be for Brian Roberts?
:-o :-°
That's a potential $1000 dollar loss/gain.

Which rank? For this season, or for the O-Rank going into next year? :-?

Currently 8th for this year and 38th for the O-Rank.

Why in the world would you want Reyes over Roberts, unless you think Roberts is going to stink it up in the 2nd half?

And if you think that, why would you bet $1000 that he won't? :-o

I'm so confused :-S

The bet concerns his final Season Rank, not the O Rank. Currently his season rank is 8TH.
Sorry, for the confusion. I only want to trade roberts because I have an all-latino team. 2B is the only position that is not latino. That is why I want to trade Roberts for Reyes, and preferably Soriano.
The latest Soriano offered proposed to me:
His Soriano + his Urbina
for
My Roberts/ F Cordero?and F Rodriguez.
Unbelievable.
As I have already mentioned Roberts for reyes has already been rejected.
Obviously, my league has no faith whatsoever in Roberts.
once again, I have bet them that Roberts will finsh with a season rank higher than 25.
Do you think Roberts will finish higher or lower than 25?...

A lock to finisher higher if healthy. Injury can quickly derail ranking though.

Sound strategy. 8-o
That is almost as bad as my Red Sox buddies not taking Yankees.

I don't think Roberts will be in the top 25. I think he will continue to play well, but he will be caught and passed by others.

That's a bad bet, man. Too many variables. I think he'll be very good, but whether or not he finishes top 25 is totally up in the air.
