Time to pull the plug or what? This guy has been up and down, but damn... today he killed me. And I'm getting used to him killing me... think he'll snap out of it? I don't think I can drop him, but his trade value is in the basement. :-o

You most definitely don't pull the plug. Remember, he had a sub 3.00 ERA before the Red Sox start. Hes hit a rough patch. Young pitchers do from time to time. Just let him ride the pine until he puts up a good start.

Zambrano is not some fantasy 5th starter. He is an ace and you do not sit your ace unless he is walking into Coors. If you start Mark Redmaning guys like Zambrano then you may as well just throw in the towel and give up. You win or lose on how well he does. If he pulls an Oliver Perez on you you are done anyway.

Exactly. He's an entirely too good pitcher to not be patient with.

I can't believe we are even debating this. He's a stud who needs to learn to get the last batter out of his head. Once Maddux teaches him this - it's on.

Zambrano has given up 18 runs in 14 innings over his last 3 starts. I would certainly bench him. Wait until he throws a good game then trade him to some idiot cub fan in your league for someone like Halliday.

IMO, Zambrano's problems are one of 3 things.....or some combination.

1) The league has simply caught on to him.

2) He's hurt.

3) He's the latest victim of Dusty Baker absolutely abusing young talented pitchers.

I think he's a sell high candidate. I certainly wouldn't bench him. But I'm skeptical that he's as good as everyone else seems to think. I think he's got talent but is soft in the head. Being managed by Dumb-sty "200 Pitches" Baker doesn't help either.
