I got Peavy 42nd overall in my contract dynasty league (end of round 3). I picked Michael Young at the tail end of my back-to-back so I get Young for one more year than I do Peavy (based on our league rules).

Hopefully, Peavy stays hot - he really looks good. ;-D

However, if we're talking who will go where in a draft in preparation for next season I have to go with Santana, although Peavy isn't far behind.

In my 10-team league, I have Santana, Peavy, Beckett ... and Prior! Top that. Wish I could suddenly change it to a keeper league.
I have to be the only Prior owner who didn't completely freak out, because I knew my staff was strong enough to handle a couple months without Prior ... though I hope he gets well soon.

One thing I worry about in regards to Peavy and Santana is workload issues. Especially with Peavy. I'm seeing a lot of young pitchers going down with injuries and it seems inevitable that these two will experience a similar fate. Soon.

I pretty much agree with the peavys and santanas of the world -- i still wouldnt draft EITHER in the first round of a draft though (unless santana fell to 12th....MAYBE then)

I just cant justify taking a P over a solid bat, (tons of posts on this topic)

As to where peavy when, he was gone by the end of the 3rd round in every league i particpated in, so I dont know why people are saying he's undervalued....

As to young pitchers who you might get great value for next year:

M Buerhle -- seems to get overlooked and fall to far EVERY year
B Myers -- always falls, always posts good mid level numbers (well not always, but he is a talent)
OL Perez -- down year now my reflect on getting good vallue next year
D Davis
CC Sabathia
C Young (haha i win again)

all of these guys will be middle round pitchers next year, take all bats in the first 5 rounds, then draft these guys over the next 5 and youllhave your championship team ready to go :)
