7 2/3 IP, 8 K's, 4 ER's.

and 123 pitches.

I believe Dusty left him there way to long today. He was cruising through 7, but Baker put him back in in the 8th and now he has given another 2 runs, which I say he was very fatigued.

SHAME ON DUSTY AGAIN!!

I traded Prior on Sunday and got back Oswalt, Schmidt and Borowski (granted I gave up more, but they were all from my bench)

I personally love Prior...he's the next phenom no doubt. But after getting a start from Schmidt yesterday and seeing Prior get hit again today I feel much better about the deal.

Baker is probably the WORST manager around (enough about pitch counts I know) for the residual affect he has on his pitchers. Don't these guys look around the league and see Pedro, Schilling and others throwing 102 pitch complete games?

Seems strange not that they're left in for so many pitches...but that they work so hard just to get through 7 IPs

Not to start the whole pitch count debate again, but just some stats

First 6 starts - 4W 45K 1.67ERA 0.93WHIP in 43IP

Last 5 starts - 2W 38K 3.93ERA 1.31WHIP in 33.2IP

As a Prior owner in one league I hope this isn't fatigue setting in this early in the season.

it's a VERY real concern....not one we should be discarding just because it's been brought up before.

The only Cubs P I feel comfortable with is Borowski

A couple of weeks ago I trade Prior for Mulder straight up. After seeing what Baker is doing to Prior I'm fairly happy with this trade especially looking later into the season.

If I were the Prior family I would be on the horn to Lloyds of London
