I wonder if he will be sent down to AAA with the way he came back and dominated this game. He surely doesn't need to be in AA anymore.
Only so I can see him pitch "in person" at AA, but I'd be willing to drive the distance if the AAA club comes near by. Glad to see him be able to overcome that first start...unfortunately, the gas tank has already started as far as the MLB starts are concerned.
In other news...I'll be debating Tim Stauffer, Kyle Davis, and of course Ervin Santana as pick ups in my sole keeper league this week - any suggestions?
I'd have said Santana before tonight just based on how high his ceiling seems to be. I like the other two guys, but have mild concerns in each case. Stauffer looks like he'll be a really steady #3 and he's probably the safest bet, but I don't think he'll ever be a huge star. Likewise, there's little doubt that Davies will be pretty decent now that he has his mechanics down and his fastball back to where it was when he was drafted.
But I think Santana is a top of the rotation guy by 2007 or 2008 with a chance to be a big winner, and that's the way I'd go.
