What I find funny is that Reagan airport is basically a few miles from every major building in DC...itsbasically across the street literally from the pentagon...

but when a Cessna mini plane flies anywhere near the city every one freaks out

Well it probably isn't much of a threat, but just because its small doesn't mean it couldnt carry a lot of explosives. THey had a right to be worried.

I just think its funny that these massive planes are constantly flying right next to the city but a little plane flies over an imaginary line and its like the world is ending

I was at the Old Executive Office Building at the time... and I don't care how small it is, I want to know when a plane is in the restricted air space, thank you.

the difference is that the small private planes don't necessarily have to file flight plans while the airliners in and out of reagan airport do..so the appearance of the cessna in restricted airspace is cause for alarm

I'd love to hear the pilot's excuse for flying into a restricted airspace. Must be a doozy. :-b

As to the response once they broke restricted airspace, they should be lucky they didn't get blown to bits. Fly into a restricted airspace and then not answer on the radio? I'd expect to be shot down. 2 very lucky guys there. :-°

Prolly because every commercial flight coming in to Washington has two Federal Air Marshalls on it.

Sorry just wanted to sound like I'm in the know ;-D
