I got him in the 19th round of a 16 team league (294th pick), in which pitchers with K's are very valuable.

Despite giving up 8 ER in 4.2 innings in one of his starts...Erik Bedard still has a 2.50 ERA.

35 innings, 2 runs in his other 5 games.

1 run in his last 23 innings, with 25 K's and 3 walks.

Hehe. This is great. I traded A.J. Burnett for Jeter two days ago, and picked up Bedard as my replacement. So far, can't complain. ;-D

just picked him off FA list as well but unfortunately not the team that needs SP. ;-D

Anyone worried about the amount of pitches that he threw today?think it was 126. Just saying that read somewhere awhile back saying that usually after such a high pitch count game the next start isn't as effective bc not used to amount of pitches thrown. However the start after the next one should be quite alright. Think it was last year when someone was charting the progress of CHC SP.

Agree with JMcKeon that SP are babied too much in the minors and aren't allowed to develop, strengthen and adjust their "arm".

Rotoworld plugged him pre-season and early April as a sleeper. I wish I had listened.

He is long gone in all of my leagues.

Picked him up for a whopping $1 in my auction draft. Couldn't be happier so far. Hopefully he keeps this up for the 3 years I have him under contract ;-D

This is exactly why you don't waste high picks on pitchers, sure Pedro, Clemens, Johnson, Santana are ok but not average pitchers in the middle rounds. My draft is always hitters heavy then go and get the hot pitchers of the year, Chacin and Bedard this year.

Haha, I've done that. O:-)

Me too!

My insomnia helps me do the same thing. I'm always the first one up. :-b

Snagged Bedard while all the sleeping beauties are still nestled in their cozy beds ;-D
