Any thoughts on this team?

Postby sportsjerk » Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:35 am

I am in a 12 team first year keeper league. Head-to-head scoring with the standard 5x5 format with holds and OBP tossed in. I am rotating my 6 SP through for every start since we don't have a max innings. What do you think of this team and do you see any players that I could package to fill a need?

Here's my roster:

C Victor Martinez
1B Travis Hafner
2B Tadahito Iguchi
3B Eric Chávez
SS Rafael Furcal
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Jeremy Reed
OF Craig Monroe
Util Richie Sexson
Util Jason Giambi
BN Jason Lane
BN Chris Burke
BN Dmitri Young
DL Lance Berkman
DL Juan Gonzalez
SP Ben Sheets
SP Mike Mussina
SP Josh Beckett
RP Joe Nathan
RP Yhency Brazoban
P Tom Gordon
P Jesse Crain
BN Brett Myers
BN Cliff Lee
BN Randy Wolf
DL Joe Borowski

Nice team. I don't like Jesse Crain that much this there anyone else on the waivers? You should stand pat except for that. You'll be fine this year, you have a very nice team that will compete.

Your team is solid for the most part I"m not big on Crain and I"d keep an eye on Gordon as he's been struggling so far but it's still early. Also you may want to package one of your fist basemen and Brazoban for a solid closer, but this is a nice team espically for a keeper league.

This is solid, though I doubt it will quite compete this year- too many youngsters. I would definitely be starting Lane right now over Monroe, and bench Reed when Berkman comes back.

I can't see any obvious trades to make, unless you can wait until Giambi has one brilliant game and package him to a Yankee fan or something, as 1B is where you have the depth.

Team seems pretty solid. You actually might need some power hitting at some point too. SP should be okay but def. try to get another closer. Also, Jeremy Reed should be on the bench for now...he's having a tough start.
