I agree.

Geez, I'm not marrying the guy (thank God) but I'm in last in BA so I picked him up and will slot him in next week and dump him until his bat cools off. No one is suggesting he's Scott Rolen. Just a possible short-term pickup.

Good suggestion.

I was reading on that he has lost a lot of weight over the offseason, and played Winter League ball for the first time in like 4 years or something. He attributes this to his hot start. I don't think he'll keep this up all year, but I do think he'll be a lot better than his previous years. ;-D

It's too bad Bonds is out, Alfonzo could've really outproduced his expectations

The reports of his "huge loss" of weight is greatly exaggerated. I even bought into the reports that he had lost 15 pounds. That isn't the case, he said that he only lost about 6 or 7 pounds.

That said, he's seeing the ball well right now. The extra dropped weight has helped him tremendously, you can see that in his swing and hips. He also knows that Feliz is waiting in the wings to take over duties at 3B, which I think explains his motivation to go out and play winter ball and drop some pounds.

I'm not sure how long this will last, but he's delivered thus far in a lineup that sorely needs his bat. He should start to creep his way up into the 3-5 spots in the lineup.
