Any predictions on stat lines for Arod? Hard to tell, but makes sense a big year is in the works with a dropoff last year.

he hit 2/6 on Sunday, and 0/3 today, so drop him :-D .

Based on his home/road splits out of Arlington, last yr was completely predictable other than the SBs. I think he will run less this yr so:

115, 38, 105, 20, .285

Basically, as a top 3 pick Arod is overrated. Last yr he finished around the 10th best hitter, and I dont expect him to improve much on those numbers.

There is very very little chance he replicates his stats from Arlington - a place that inflated both his HR and BA totals significantly.

I don't expect Arlington numbers either but an improvement over last year is a given for me. Arod is a great hitter Arlington or not.

thats fine - but where do you rank him? With the numbers you just projected for him, he would barely be a top 10 hitter.

;-D Don't forget, he really struggled at the beginning of the year last year adjusting to the Bronx. I expect bigger numbers than last year, particularly rbi's. J35J's predictions above look pretty reasonable. I might even add 10 rbi's and a couple of homeruns.

I'd rank him 3rd still. Who would you have ahead of him?

Beltran
Pujols
Vlad
RJ
Santana

after that it gets quite muddled.

Let me put it like this - I fully think Beltre will have better numbers across the board than ARod - again. However, because I probably could get Beltre and something else in a deal for ARod I would draft Arod ahead of him.

As for the argument he got off to a slow start - every player goes through some kind of minor slump every season - its normal and should be factored into all projections.
