Jazz you started the freakin post and now ewe are down on the guy. Hope you are not a DA as it seems you can be swayed by a differing opinion easily.

Anyway I like Ho Ram alot this season. He is a sleeper pick like Francis, Meche, Haren etc. If you take a chance on him and he does not pan out move on. Thats my take anyway and I just dropped Millwood in favor of him.

Jazz now is the time to post "well maybe Jackle is all wrong about Ho Ram"

He was a starter in 2003. He had 29 GS. He was actually a fair bit better in 2003. He won't get you K's, his WHIP will ruin you, and his ERA will be way up there as well. And with a high ERA comes very few wins.

doh. for some reason, it hought he was coming out of the pen... oh well.

he certainly walks too many, but like i said, a 4.00 ERA and 1.35 whip isn't preposterous... although it would be nice if he Ked more than just a few more than he walked. :-D

i would stay the hell away from any SP with a 4.62 K/9 and a 1.03 K/BB ('04 stats).

for some reason Horacio isnt a "sexy" option , like Bonderman, He;s on the Braves where they perform Miracles w pitchers, a great ball club & has produced good in majors when healthy

Horacio will be real good this year, no reason to think not,

Id pick him up over Madstrich , mauybe Horace wont K a zillion guys but hell be solid everywhere else

For any doubters, I'll take bets on Horacio. I've posted my theory on him before, and I believe it to be very true. Look for a solid year from him. He's yet to tap into his potential, look for his K numbers to rise as he fine tunes his great control.

I agree ;-D I would be extremely suprised if his ERA is under or even around 4.

Look beyond the simple stats kids. You don't have to strike people out to be good.

Horacio had a .689 OPS Against.

As a comparison, Curt Schilling had a .657 OPS Against.

Oh, I've looked beyond the simple stats. I don't usually look at the simple stats anyway. What kind of bets are you taking on him? +/- on a 4.00 ERA? I'd be down for that.

Yeah, I'll take +/- 4 ERA. What's the wager?
