THis is a yahoo 5X5 head to head league - looking for inputs - posted on the wrong thread earlier so trying this again:

ps - I know I don't have the strongest pitching staff - I'm hoping to overwhelm my opponents with sheer numbers as most of my opponents have 5-6 starters and I have 8-9.

anyways here's the roster:

C Branden Inge
1B Derrek Lee
2B Chone Figgins
3B Chipper Jones
SS Carlos Guillen
OF VLAD Guerrero
OF Gary Sheffield
OF Jim Edmonds
UTIL Luis Gonzalez

Bench: Jose Cruz, Raul Ibanez, Angel Berroa

SP: Mussina
SP: J Wright
SP: A Eaton
SP: B Lawrence
SP: K Millwood
SP: D Wells
SP: C Lee
SP: J Washburn
SP: W Williams

RP: Nathan
RP: Looper
RP: Wickman

very nice outfield try to trade one of them for a top flight pitcher or closer. I think chipper is primed for a comeback.

How many teams in the league?

Your team looks pretty well-rounded, if anything strengthen your catcher and 1st.

I think your pitching staff is pretty good. It's a gut feeling but I think Millwood will have a pretty good year.

Looks like a pretty good team. I don't think you need an upgrade at C or 1b -- Inge will have great numbers relative to catchers (and has the benefit of playing everyday). Lee gives the added bonus of SB from 1B. On that note, looks like your lineup could use a little more speed. I agree that Chipper should have a great year.

As for pitching, is there no limit on innings? I've never done h2h. I'd get rid of Washburn asap, he's washed up. I like WoWilliams leading that yound SD staff. Otherwise they look pretty decent. Maybe you could package a couple for a top-notch starter?? The bullpen looks pretty good, though not sure how long Wickman will keep that CL job in Cleveland.

Feel free to look at my teams. Any advice helps! ... p?t=106622

jeez, talk about some power in your outfield!

i dont think you will overpower your opponents with sheer numbers, considering you have no true #1 starter. Try and package a #3 starter and an OF for an ace. ... p?t=104381

Your outfield is ridiculous! I think you could probably upgrade your bench, at least give it a speed option.

Pitching: You have a couple of really solid #2 pitchers, but no true #1. I agree with others who've said you should try to package a couple of these #2's for a #1. Also, please drop Washburn immediately. There should be better options on the wire for you. But if you're Jarrod Washburn or related to him, then you should keep him because family's family after all.
