i posted a thread a while ago, to discuss what to do with this scoring system ( Here )...and although a couple things have changed (it's not a draft and not an auction...and 2 teams left) just about everyone agreed that starting pitching was important, and I don't think that's changed at all.

Anyway...Here's how my draft turned out:

C Paul LoDuca (198th pick, Thirteenth round)
1B Richie Sexson (123rd pick, Eighth round)
2B Jeff Kent (91st pick, Sixth Round)
SS Kaz Matsui (134th pick, Ninth round)
3B Aramis Ramirez (70th pick, Fifth round)
OF Hideki Matsui (38th pick, Third Round)
CF Carlos Lee (59th pick, Fourth Round)
OF Shannon Stewart (166th pick, Eleventh round)

DH Phil Nevin (283rd pick, Eighteenth round)

SP Randy Johnson (7th pick, First round)
SP Josh Beckett (27th Pick, Second round)
SP Andy Pettitte (102nd pick, Seventh round)
SP Kris Benson (155th pick, Tenth round)
SP Scott Kazmir (187th pick, Twelfth round)

RP Scott Linebrook (219th pick, Fourteenth round)
RP Jose Capellan (262nd pick, Seventeenth round)
RP Glendon Rusch (230th pick, Fiftheenth round)

1. OF - Ken Griffey Jr. (251st pick, Sixteenth round)
2. SP - Eric Bedard (294th pick, Ninteenth round)
3. 3B - Joe Crede (315th pick, Twentieth round)
4. OF - Jermaine Dye (326th pick, Twenty-First round)
5. 2B - Tony Womack (347th pick, Twenty-Second round)

I'm not sure if I want to use Griffey or Nevin as my DH...and obviously, Womack stinks. I just didn't feel like making that last pick.

And because there's so many teams, it wasn't very easy to pick up many of the top tier pitchers...

Otherwise, I think I'm pretty satisfied with my team.

saves dont count????

very solid team for a 16 team league, I think you may have reached for beckett and it has some injury risks, other than that it looks like you can compete for the top with that in a 16 team league.

Postby Conner » Thu Mar 24, 2005 5:17 am saves, wins, losses, rbi, runs....Like i said...very odd scoring.

Based on my projections, I've got the top offense in the league, and one of the top 4 pitching staffs.

I'm not sure if I should try to make some kinf od a Carlos Lee/Kris Benson for Smoltz/Mench type of trade...because there's no innings limit, and Smoltz qualifies as a reliever. It'd be nice to have 6 starters pitching every week, considering this leagues scoring.

I'm also not sure if that kind of trade is even worth offering...I hate offering trades that are too lopsided in my favor.
