Whats the deal with him this year? Starter or OF utility? Is he worth having? I think he is I am just mad at where I picked him. Long story short I clicked my mouse on accident on his name and picked him 12th round(edit), maybe he will break out and I will look genious!? Opinions and jokes welcome!!

as in the 12th round? That's a bad messup but it won't kill your team or anything....he's going to Texas and in that great lineup...I think he'll be a nice guy to have this year ;-D

I like Mench a lot this year. He's on all 4 of my teams.
If he stays healthy he'll get the playing time and will produce in that ballpark in that lineup.

Seems like I said this before somewhere. :-?

I also took Mench around there but it was a full keeper league so I took him over some older better guys. Mench should have a very good year. The guy hit 26 Home Runs with an .874 OPS in 438 AB last year.

Taking him in the 12th isnt bad, he'll end up being better than that this year. The starting OF job is his alone. MULTIPLE teams were trying to get him around the trade deadline last year. He'll get you a .300-.310 BA, 35-38HRS, and at least 120 RBI -- which is a top 5 round type of numbers. Dont worry, Im trying to get him on every one of my teams, I think he is the most underrated player in this years draft

I am high on Mench also. I think he is a guy you can get in rounds 15-25 (depending on the league) who has the POSSIBILITY to be a top 10 round player at seasons end. I will draft him late as my 3rd OF or Util player.

That's a tad optimistic, don't you think? I have Tex and would be esctatic if he ended up with those numbers. And you have them for Mench? When you start talking those numbers, you are talking a 1st/2nd rounder, not a 5th. Not many 120 RBI men available in the 5th round.

I like Mench. But to expect 38 hrs & 120 RBI's is setting yourself up for bitter dissapointment.

There is no way he hits .300, but he will be solid in terms of HRs and RBIs. Once he got a full time gig last season in teh second half he tore it up. I can pretty much thank him for carrying my offense ot 2nd place down the stretch. He may not hit 35Hrs, but it should shock no one if he does.

Yeah those numbers are on the high side for mench. However, I definitely think that Mench is capable of hitting .300, if you look at his minor league numbers he was an excellent hitter in the minor leagues. I would guess around .290 30HR 100 RBIs
