SD - Jaret Wright or
Matt Herges

St L - Steve Kline or
Dustin Hermanson

I've been trying to figure that out for a couple of days and then last night it was announced that Escobar was going to be a starter and Cliff Politte was the new closer for Toronto, so I picked him up and quit trying to figure out the bullpen by committe on the others.

I do think the St. Louis situation is interesting and I wouldn't exactly call Kline the closer.

Last night, with the Cards up by 3 runs, LaRussa used Kline in the 7th inning. Now, closers are almost never used in the 7th so that got me wondering. Kline then blew the lead then Hermanson took over and pitched the 9th. Kline's ERA is now 5.11 while Hermanson's is 3.07. So I quickly picked up Hermanson off FA and hope my hunch is correct.

Neither. Kline had a meltdown in the clubhouse over the weekend and basically said he can't pitch. So at this point if he even gets one guy out I'm happy. Been listening to the local sports talk and it sounds like Calero has earned his chance at closing, and may even do it this weekend when we sweep the Expos. :-)
