I guess I see a little more to his story. Yes, he started Rookie and A ball in 2006...looks like he had some issues or injuries early on. He moved into AA from 2010-2011. And, in 2012 he made the transition to AAA and stuck. 2 full years of AAA.
Those two years in AAA, weren't really a breakout, but they were very solid....they were also his most productive, with consistent counting stats & average, AND above average wOBAs for the SS position: .332, and .325 for 2012 and 2013 respectively.
To me it looks like the Yankees farm system might have actually developed a useable player. With Teix out, Solarte will have plenty of opportunity, in a friendly home park, and with team lineup that knows how to produce.
Plus, 'top 20' isn't much of a stretch, when my arbitrary endpoint puts him in the company of guys like Alcides Escobar and Jonathan Villar...
