When to kick this thing off

Post by TheRock »

We have some new folks so let's review how the draft works.

I'll set up a custom draft over at couchmanagers.com. Once we kick it off, I'll set a time limit of 14 hours per pick, we determined last year that 12 was too short to allow someone a night to sleep, eat, shower, enjoy "special time" with your girl, whatever. There is a queue you can use to load up some picks before you're up, so the time limit shouldn't really be an issue. If you can check in at least a time or two a day, we shouldn't have a problem. If you find yourself consistently using near your entire 14 hours every pick, we will have a problem and you should expect to be Barbied. And you definitely will be if you go over. Uh, the rankings on the site are pretty bad as I recall so make some changes in case you have an emergency and have to have a pick made based on rankings. Last year I think we took 6 days, we have a bit bigger roster this year so maybe 7-8.

In years past we've waited to see a couple of weeks of Spring training before we draft. You guys want to go ahead and get rolling, or wait a bit?

I thought it took longer than a week to complete. Either way, I'm good to start 'er up right now.
