Gentleman's Roto Keeper ******FILLED*****

Good owners, no trash talking; fairly basic 14 team 7 player keeper league has an opening . We are an older, quieter keeper league than most; alot of the younger guys might not be interested in this league. Free from the bickering and fighting of so many leagues we've found this set-up appeals to level-headed fantasy owners who just like to build a team and compete in the old fashioned 10 category roto game. The level of play is quite good, if you aren't a seasoned fantasy veteran this league will be too competitive for you
This is a $100 league where we pay out 5 spots so winning isn't going to make you as much as a winner take all league, you play for fun and matching wits with other baseball enthusiasts. . We'll have a long trading session in February that includes draft pick trading which has been a godsend for owners to get guys they want and being able to quickly rebuild teams.

A little more info...We use a slow draft meaning owners would need to have internet access for about 8 days mid-March. You can get by missing a chunk of the workday occasionally but if you are away from 8-5 everyday this draft probably won't work for you.
Nobody likes to take over an abandoned team that has no chance to compete; especially in a money league. What we've done is fashioned a draft order where the last place teams pick first in the first 4 rounds and allow draft pick trading. So what happens is the team needing improved keepers will trade their early pick in the 3rd round to a team with more than enough keepers and they'd give the lesser team their 4th or 5th round pick (just an example, any rounds available to trade). The abandoned team owner would be able to look at the entire leagues rosters and hand pick young guys or just players they want to build with that the other owner can't keep. If you take your time and shop around you start with much improved keepers at a minimal cost. It has really worked well to level the field for all owners but especially give owners joining the league a chance to start with players they want not just what was left them.

Updating this old post but the leagues haven't changed, I've had such good luck finding owners here I'm back looking for an owner or 2 as 1 owner who had been with me for a decade has decided to get out of 2 leagues. The settings in both leagues are identical except for how we add free agents; 1 league we run FAAB 3 times a week, the other we only allow 2 pickups first come first serve every week. Both leagues use the slow draft meaning you'd need to be around about 10 days early to mid March. Both league allow draft pick trading prior to the draft so you'd really have an opportunity to go into the draft with 7 players of your liking. There are always more owners with more than 7 worthy keepers who will move 1 or 2 at a very low cost making for an ideal league for new owners getting started in a league.
One league has Baez & Bellinger as its best 2 players with prospects like Robles Senzel & Eloy Jimenez available for the next 4 years. The other league features Judge & Lindor at the top so neither of these leagues is a build from scratch throwing away a year to compete. The 2nd team also has the 3rd pick of the draft with Betts, JD Martinez & Arenado all back in the draft so this team in the FAAB league has some star power
These are fair leagues without a lot of chatter and no bickering, very little owner turnover from year to year. I've been posting here for a decade, we always end up having guys want to join after the opening or 2 we have gets filled. Many of the Cafe owners are still playing in these leagues. Good quality owners with great settings, $100 a year. If you'd like more info or an invite to look around, please send me a private message or an e-mail to fastdogz@yahoo.com
