Sound like he might re-enter the draft.

A source close to the Angels said that any offer the team makes in the future would be lower. Weaver has until June 7 to sign or he will re-enter the draft and the Angels will lose his rights

Will he really get more next time? He's now a year older.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

I actually think the kid might sign and that this is a bluff, I believe the Tigers did it with Verlander and it worked. Also I can't imagine Weaver going higher in next year's draft, he will be a year out of college and the main problem with him is Boras. They think they are worth top dollar, while others don't think he is that good .... neither will change next year. Somewhat funny cause we know the Angels have money, and still aren't willing to go higher for him.

We should just get this over with and let the Yanks sign him, since we know they can fork out the money. :-P

Geez if someone offered me $4million as a signing bonus I would take it and not try and get more money. If $4million isnt enough he can always take that $4million and move to Canada!

I hope he blows out his shoulder and is flipping burgers for a living for the next 30 years.

OK, I don't "hope" per se, but I wouldn't be opposed to it.

This feels like a case of deja Drew.

Honestly, I don't think this is Weaver's fault. He chose the best agent on the planet to guide him through the process. Boras, on the other hand, does what he is supposed to do for his clients. He gets them the most money whether they deserve it or not.

That being said, I think it is ridiculous to call these people greedy or anything else. I know that if I am negotiating a salary, I would want as much as I think I should get.

Oh, and he never said that he is the next Prior. That is a comparison made by reporters and journalists. In the long run, he will be a good #2 or 3 since I don't trust his genetic make up IMO.
