Bellhorn or Walker?

Postby jpbusta » Thu Mar 03, 2005 6:51 am

Who will have a better season?

I like Bellhorn's numbers except for his ba. Walker bats for 10 more points and hits similar number of homeruns. I assume Bellhorn will be batting at the bottom of the lineup and Walker would be batting at the top probably after patterson. What does this do to their runs and rbis?

I'm pretty sure they are both going to be batting 2nd.
I'd still take Walker. I don't trust Bellhorn's BA.

I'd take Bellhorn - qualifies as 2nd and 3rd which gives him more value, and will have more opportunities to score based on the lineup behind him in Boston.

(qualification - Bellhorn is a keeper on my team, so I may rate him a little higher... but I stand with my above statement).

Walker. ;-D He's more consistent. Bellhorn's average will outweigh any positives he gets in a few more HRs and RBIs, if he in fact gets more.

I'm also in the Walker camp. This guy is seriously undervalued this season. He's been forgotten about and is not getting drafted in standard 12 team leagues at all, after platooning with Gruds last season.

He should see most of the AB's at 2B this year with the Cubs and he should also bat at 2 (he has a very good career record batting 1st or 2nd). I can see Top 10 2B numbers for him pretty easily in that position and in that lineup.

Bellhorn will hit 8 or 9. Renteria has the 2 hole sewn up.
