What do you guys have for hockey and basketball in your area/state? Our hockey team is favored to win the Wisconsin State Tourney but our basketball team sucks. How are your local high schools doing in State competition?

My school's hockey team (Suffern) won the Section and are in the State Tournament now (why do they pit the top 2 teams, or two of the top teams in the state against each other in the first round?) The funniest thing was that the Section Final was on our home ice against a team an hour away (Meaning in a sold-out crowd, hardly anyone from the other team showed and the place was going crazy).

Somehow, Mount Vernon, who you may have heard of (was nationally ranked, stuffed Talfair last year) lost to this team New Rochelle, who also is amazingly good (NR won the year matchup 2-1). Coming from Section 1 in NY, they could win states. They're predicted to destroy the team they play in the first round (the newspaper said it shouldn't even be close). New Rochelle has had a great year - their football team reached the state final as well.

As for our bball team, we're OK. We lost in the first round of the Section Playoffs, but we should be pretty good next year since we only have two Seniors leaving. But if we have to play Mount Vernon or New Rochelle... :-o (they win by nearly 50 points a game during the regular season, Mount Vernon pushes it past 70 regularly).

My alma-mater New Rochelle finished runner-up in New York state football AA and made the state tournament in mens basketball. The baseball season is preseason ranked #2 in the county not country. I was very active during high school in these things as I was the television play-by-play man.

Our basketball girls and boys both made it to the 3rd round in the playoffs....Our girls were ranked in the top 6 the entire year, get big headed and then lose by ten to a team thats not even ranked in the top 20. Over-Rated :-t
