Fantasy's Best Second Basemen

Postby Arlo on Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:41 am

Moving across the infield, Jamey Feuer's position-by-position preview series continues with second base. Is Alfonso Soriano in a league of his own? Can Bret Boone bounce back? Whose stock is due to rise?

Read on! ;-D

Jamey forgot to include Jose Reyes and Chone Figgins who are both 2B eligible and should prove more valuable than Miles and Matsui.

Interesting write-up, but I totally disagree about Boone! I'd much rather have him than Kent this year.

RE: Figgins & Reyes

Postby jameeman on Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:33 pm

With full agreement and understanding that Figgins and Reyes are top fantasy commodities, I listed both athletes at other positions. Reyes was listed at Short, his natural position and the one he'll again be playing this season. Likewise, I am a fan o' Figgins. But, he too will most likely be slotted elsewhere and was reviewed as a 3rd Bagger and I believe at Short as well. The fact of the matter is, Figgins can play and is eligible at most of the IF positions. I just didn't review athletes who were assessed in prior articles.

RE: Freel... Uribe... I opted to review only so many ball players; those that I felt would be fantasy's top options, and who were intriguing prospects. That being said, I am bound to miss one or two and Freel IS an intriguing player.

Glad you're all enjoying the pieces and that they are generating discussion.
