Didn't Florida lose to a college team a couple years ago? Even the Tigers don't lose to those teams.

I can't even watch the spring training games because so few of the players even care what they do.
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!

I disagree that spring training games are meaningless. The first couple of weeks may be meaningless, but you can learn a lot from spring training. Many position battles are decided during spring training. Also, players coming back from injury can be scouted using spring training games. It is true that most players just work on a few things and don't take it too seriously. But look at a guy like Termel Sledge from last year. He made a decent bench guy in NL only leagues last year and smart owners watched him during spring training. Those same smart owners probably stayed away from Preston Wilson and Mark Prior. For guys like Randy Johnson, spring is a joke. He is all business when the regular season starts. But for a guy trying to crack a rotation (like Jerome Williams in SF two years ago) you can get a heads up on other owners by watching spring stats.

I'll get off my soapbox now.... O:-)

"They're a good team, this is no junior college,'' said Willis, who threw 53 pitches. "You're talking about the notorious University of Miami.''

Whatever, dude. Keep rationalizing. :-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
