I said this in another thread, but it went almost unnoticed due to the thread it was in, I'm interested in hearing some comments on it:
I can't take the Mussina bashing anymore. I was actually trying to keep this as one of my few remaining sleepers, due to fellow leaguemates being members here....but I can't take it anymore.

He pitched 42 innings with 42 Ks, 2.14 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, .216 BAA, and you guys are all ready to write him off?
I can't believe that after one bad year, everyone's willing to write him off. Show the man some respect, I don't even like the Yankees and I'm saying all of this.
This reminds me exactly of Randy Johnson doubters after 2003. So what, we all got burned by his season last year....but it's time to get over it and realize he should rebound this year. I'm not saying he'll put up numbers like RJ did in '04, that's crazy...what I am saying is that there is no reason to think he won't be able to regress back to his career norm.
*Sorry about the stats, there really is no good way to copy/paste stats, I've tried about everything I can think of an they all screw it up.

Here you go, lazy. No one could read that mess you posted.
Am I missing something? Who's sleeping on Moose or did I miss the thread where he got bashed?
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Thanks for the fix....I lined it up correctly in my original post but I was too lazy to do it again, and copy/pasting my original didn't work either.
Yeah, you missed the thread(s). It's on page 2 now....someone put him in their top 25 pitchers, and the poster got ripped for it saying Moose wasn't anywhere close. That wasn't the only one I've seen though, there have been many others. Maybe it's just Red Sox fans that are sleeping....I don't know. Either way, nobody should be.
A few things on Moose have to be taken into consideration:
1. He got messed up with that Japan trip early last year and it affected him for a few starts. This guys is very much a creature of habit and sort of peculiar about things at times (he stayed in his hotel room for almost the entire Japan trip beacuse he was upset or uncomfortable about being there). That will not be the case this year.
2. He was not healthy for part of last year and the numbers bear that out. Of course this is always a risk.
3. He has always been streaky to the point of driving fantasy owners mad even when healthy.
If things break right healthwise, I think he has a decent year this year.
Preach it brotha'. And he did all that through elbow and
groin problems last year. Other than last year, he's had a
track record of consistency and if he's healthy, he'll
pitch closer to 2003's line than 2004's. Depends on if
the age thing is slowly catching up to him.
Still, I'd take him on my squad this year for sure!
im not writing Mussina a/k/a " the moose" off yet, hell rack up a ton of wins , i think his most dominant days are over, but hes a solid # 2 starter for your fantasy squad
i read somewhere, he is like the biggest drop among known guys from last year, think he was averaging 2md rd this year to like 10th, 11th this year (something like that)

Hopefully this thread will help correct that atrocity. Mussina in the 11th? That's an unbelievable steal.

I got him for $16 in my auction and I probably overpaid. I had little choice as I needed to get a decent pitcher at that point. I got Prior for $23. Schmidt went for $39 and Santana for $40 early in the auction by othe rowners. I think I did alright with those 2 plus an $8 Beckett and a $6 Maddux.
