Another team dispute. Who would you choose?

Postby AI8818 » Tue Mar 01, 2005 11:13 am

A friend and I are arguing once again on who's team has the best chance of winning. The league is a Head-Head, 12 team, standard 5*5 league. Here are the teams, who would you rather control?

C Ivan Rodriguez
1B Jeff Bagwell
2B Jeff Kent
SS Nomar Garciaparra
3B Hank Blalock
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Vernon Wells
OF Torii Hunter
Util Troy Glaus
BN Richard Hidalgo
BN Juan Uribe
BN Chris Burke

SP Roy Halladay
SP Barry Zito
SP C.C. Sabathia
RP Eddie Guardado
RP Bob Wickman
P Mark Buerhle
P Jake Westbrook
P Bronson Arroyo
BN Adam Eaton
BN Mike Gonzalez
BN Tom Gordon

C Jason Varitek
1B Travis Hafner
2B Bret Boone
SS Derek Jeter
3B Scott Rolen
OF Chipper Jones
OF Miguel Cabrera
OF Aubrey Huff
Util Justin Moreneau
BN Tadahito Iguchi
BN Jason Lane
BN Aaron Rowand
BN Ramon Hernandez

SP Roger Clemens
SP Randy Johnson
SP Carlos Zambrano
RP Octavio Dotel
RP Keith Foulke
P Javier Vazquez
P Kris Benson
P Rich Harden
BN Chin-Hui Tsao

P.S...Please explain why and what the difference between them are (close or far)! THANKS!

If team B grabs a solid MR like Team A did, hten I'll definately go with team B. The offenses are pretty even (but I still may go with Team B by a little bit), but I like team B's pitching more. They have better SP's and a more solid bullpen. I just think team B is better all-around.

Again, team B (if it's you) should grab a MR because Gonzalez and Gordon will definately help Team A and team B needs the counter that.

I'll take Team B

Team A doesn't have a good closer and doesn't have as good SP as Team B

Offense is pretty close

I think it will be close but I will take Team B

And as far as MR go, you should be able to get one in the FA pool who will be comarable to Gordon or Gonzalez, there are always good ones out there early on.

i like team B...

team b's starting pitching just overwhelms A's...
i also like team b's closers better than team a's
the offenses are close, but i like team b's there by a little margin as well......

Clearly Team B. Team A pitching is pretty weak.
