Welcome to the Cafe! ;-D

Just as an aside, it's a good idea to post things about your league, like how many teams, roto or H2H, scoring cats - helps us to give better advice!

As it stands, I think your hitters could use a little more speed, and I am not at all confident about Griffey this season. Wilson at SS is probably not the best you could have. But the rest is good.

Decent pitching staff, with several guys who could be primed to have a big season. Certainly capable of competing, I think, but I don't think it's a championship team.

great tips Chris8 thanks! :-B
It's a H2H 12 Team League
Cats: R H 3B HR RBI SB AVG W CG SHO SV K ERA

Yeah I need stolen base stats but they are all taken unfortunatley. I hope to trade up for that....someone is offering me Rollins, L. Ford, and J. Thompson for Pujols, and Westbrook......I'm not so sure I want to get rid of Pujols but he is giving me stolen base threats and good hitting stats plus a good arm for an ok arm and mr man! :-?

If he wants Pujols, he has to give you a better trade than that.
For Pujols, he should be offering you a top speedy OF like Crawford, Ichiro or Pierre in the trade.

Replace Ford with one of those 3, and I would consider the trade. But don't take it as it stands now. ;-D

LOL he has Crawford too!

That's what I was thinking but he is using my SB weakness against me.....I like your tip on J. Wilson. I was actually pretty excited about picking him up off waivers though to replace P. Feliz. Jack Wilson has tons of hits and triples, which are stats we are using, plus he has a good average. That is one spot I've been racking my brain to upgrade without trading away my big bats. B-)

Further input would be appreciated! :-]

this is a few top shortstops on the waiver wire....

O. Cabrera
C. Izturis
Ál. González
O. Vizquel
Á. Berroa
R. Clayton
C. Guzmán
D. Eckstein
K. Greene
O. Infante
A. Everett

For some reason I'm not sold on O. Cabrera or Izturis.....I think J. Wilson is a tad better when it comes to stats. :-?

Fair point about the triples. But if Cabrera is on the WW, get him now! Not only will he almost certainly perform better than Wilson (IMO), but the guy who wants Pujols on the cheap won't be able to use his SS tactic!

If you want to keep Wilson's triples, is there anyone else you can drop? A 19-man roster is unusually small.

yeah it's a small roster size but it seems to spread the wealth pretty well......I could drop Milton Bradley and pick up Orlando Cabrera for good measure :-? ....I think Bradley is way over rated anyways -

BTW I see you are from England!! I used to live in Oxfordshire for 4 years....Upper Heyford Air Force Base! B-)

Bradley's probably the best one to drop of all of them.

Cool that you know England! If you were stationed on an air base, you may have heard of where I live - Biggin Hill, just south of London. If you haven't, Biggin Hill has an airfield, and played an important strategic role in the war.

Sounds like a cool area! London is phenomenal, so is the whole of Britain IMO....the closest I could get to the same environment was living in Seattle so here I sit! :-b

I am in the process of contemplating trading him Pujols and J. Wilson for Rollins and Crawford.....think he'll bite! ;-7
