Need help deciding...which SP is the best from this list?

Postby MBH_14 » Sun Feb 27, 2005 3:04 pm

I am in a H2H keeper league with 6x6 scoring, and was wondering which SP is the best to go with out of this list in a keeper league:

Doug Davis
Jeff Weaver
John Thomson
Matt Morris
Brian Lawrence
Adam Eaton
Brad Penny
Kris Benson
Jon Lieber
Dontrelle Willis
Jerome Williams
Scott Kazmir
Kevin Millwood
Wade Miller
Joel Piniero
Andy Pettitte
Randy Wolf
Kip Wells

I know this is a long list, but could you rank the top 3 out of these for me? Just pick the 3 best and rank them, if you could. Thanks for any help!

It depends on how quickly you need the guy to produce. Since it's a keeper, do you need the player for this year or can you just get someone to hide away for a year or two?

If you can hide someone away for a year or so I would definately get Kazmir. He is very very solid.

If you need it right now here is my list...

Wade Miller
Pinero
Weaver
Pettite
Lawrence
Penny (would be number 1 if I werent concerned with his health)

Meant to add that Haren, Blanton, and Russ ortiz also are available, if that makes a difference.

First of all I would think that Wade Miller is the biggest injury risk in that entire list.

My Top 3 would be

Piniero, Weaver and Millwood, in no particular order.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I think Pineiro will be the best pitcher of that group this year. However its a keeper, consider Kazmir?

It all boils down to when you need the help -

NOW - Weaver/Penny/Pinero
LATER - Kazmir/Kazmir/Kazmir
