Forgot to mention. It's a 12 team league and I had the fifth pick.

Welcome to the cafe! ;-D

Your starting line-up is pretty good - definitely put Kaz into 2B, and you can put Greene in at SS, although there are obviously better ones around to trade for.

In a 12-team league, I wouldn't have Sledge or Gonzalez on my roster; I don't see them adding anything to your team. There must be better hitters who weren't drafted.

You have some good SPs, but your RPs are weak. Takatsu is your only closer, although Urbina may be traded to a team that needs a closer - keep an eye on him.
Again, I wouldn't have Cruz, Jennings, Lima or Felix Rodriguez on my roster.

See if Adams (Mil) or Speier (Tor) went undrafted - both are scheduled to start the season as closers, and may have slipped through the net.

Who else is available on the WW?

Not bad. Your infield is solid, but the OF is hurting a bit. I'd start Coco over Burnitz, and maybe look for another. A Gonzalez and Termell Sledge don't belong on a team, and there must be better players out there. You'll need another closer too. Not bad for your first though.

Thanks for your reply.

I took A.S.Gonzalez and Sledge for their power. I think Sledge will improve a bit and Gonzalez's number might go up if he's healthy plus moving to the American League. But I would certainly look at the WW.

Here are some of the players avalible:
Burroughs, LaRoche, J.Encarnacion, Hinske, Mark Grudz, Mondesi etc.

How do you think Mondesi would do this year?

Both of the pitchers you mentioned were drafted. And who and what should I look for in relief pitchers?

:-P don't like any of those hitters you mention! What about guys like Lane (Hou), Mench (Tex), Pena (Det) or Pena (Cin). I'd expect any of them to put up decent numbers this year.

As for relievers, leaving saves aside, look for guys who will give you great ERA & WHIP. They are the sorts of guys who will pick up several wins over the course of a season. And Ks are a bonus.

Guys like Rincon (Min), Gordon (NYY), Gonzalez (Pit), Otsuka (SD), or Tavarez (StL).
