Dynasty league - who would you take?

14 team mixed 5x5 dynasty league

I have the 12th pick

I really believe in a serpentine draft with 14 teams the 12 hole is a pretty good spot to be in. I predict you will have a majority of teams picking players off cheat sheets that mainly emphasize players that are due to do well this year. Randy Johnson in a Dynasty league that is just starting is not really as valuable as many would rate him. I'd really be sure to get young bats because they are more likely to be around for a decade. Miguel Cabrera comes to mind as does Carl Crawford both will be around for awhile. Cabrera would really be the guy I'd be hoping for then I'd try to concentrate on guys under 27.......Wright, Morneau, Mauer, Crosby, V Martinez, Greene, Blalock, etc. Now if Santana is available the whole plan might go out the window.

Make your team a contender every year not just the next couple of seasons with a youth heavy draft NOW!

Most of your competition will be the same way....... take advantage of it.

Get the best guys available for the first two picks. That may mean Crawford & Cabrera, but it may not.

You don't want to get two guys near the end of their careers (eg: Johnson & Bonds), but you also don't want to be so concerned about young players that you rule yourself out of competing in the league this year.

Yeah, Cabrera and Crawford are two names I was thinking about. Also Tejada (if he slips-doubtful) and Teixeira.

crawford first, beltre 2nd

i had the 9th pick in my keeper, and this is what i wish i had done. but i thought crawford would be more likely to slip than beltre, so i went with beltre first adn crawford was long gone by my pick. >_<

anyhow, if you get those two, you'll be set for a long time in SBs as well as the power numbers that beltre will provide.
