If you think my team is bad, you should see the others in my league!

That's what I was wondering...I bet it was, uh, damn, who was it?
Your team actually isn't horrible, it's just that you don't have that superstar in the lineup. You have many really good players (Ichiro, Hudson, Halladay), but no elite players.
You just forgot about a closer...I'm guessing you punted saves? Your team isn't horrible (or at least as bad as u say it is), but it probably won't win you the league. You needed a star of consistency, a big player who can reel in the points; you don't have that.
It is a workable team...solid SP's...but you need to find a closer somwhere....pretty decent hitters...but third base will be a problem for you...you'll need to do something there or grab another 2B and move Chone over...
with the right moves...you can make it work...

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

LOL!
Well, my first round pick (11th overall) was Ichiro. I think he's going to do some major damage with a revamped Mariners lineup in the Runs, AVG & Hits department. I consider Ichiro as Top 10 material but it's all in the eye of the beholder.
Went for Jeter in the second round cause after Tejeda, Jeter comes as close second and then it's pretty much a quilt of patchwork in that position. Garciappra disappeared in the thrird round so it's obvious that the other GM was thinking position scarcity.
Sosa was my third. I don't care what he did last year, this guy can still bring 40 Hrs and 100 RBIs to the table. He'll rebound. I don't think he would have been around in the fourth round.
With my fourth pick, I went again for position scarcity. At the catcher position, there's Lopez, Rodriguez and... Martinez. You don't lift your nose on a catcher who can bring in 100 RBIs to the table. After these guys, you just pray that the catchers don't bring your team down or hope that a Mauer finally pans out or Piazza stays off the DL.
Doesn't matter who your 1st pick was- work with what you got. I would be surprised if Upton turns in better numbers than Hillenbrant. Also, Giambi is a question mark, personally I have him on my team (10 team league and he went undrafted) from the wire. I don't think he will go from streoids to hemoriods - too much talent. Your pitching is fine - Lieber is the best pitchee in Phi. and may do very well for you. Good Luck
I think you let your worries about position scarcity affect your draft, so you missed out on a lot of top players.
Jeter in the 2nd was too early - there's several really good SS you could have picked up in the next two rounds, like Young, Rollins or Furcal.
Again, there are a good 12 or 13 catchers who will do a decent job for you - you don't need to grab one of the top 3 early if there are better hitters available. I hope Sosa pulls through for you, but I doubt it. I think he'd stiill have been around in round 7 or 8, if you really wanted him.
I think Coskie will out-perform Hillenbrand, but Upton should be called up from AAA fairly soon.
