first draft of the year

Postby nycyankees » Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:44 pm

just finished my first draft of the year, but i am still pretty happy with the results. what do you guys think?
C M. Piazza
1B T. Helton
2B C. Figgins
3B H. Blalock
SS Á. Berroa
OF I. Suzuki
OF G. Sheffield
OF J. Bay
Util A. Boone
BN M. Bradley
BN E. Durazo

SP J. Peavy
SP Ol. Pérez
RP T. Hoffman
RP J. Rincón
P B. Radke
P M. Buehrle
P B. Arroyo
BN K. Brown
BN A. Eaton
BN B. Tomko

This is a 10 team head 2 head yahoo league. Im a little weak in the middle infield but hopefully my big three hitters (helton, ichiro, and sheff) will make up for it. Hitting was my priority but i still got good young pitchers. What do you guys think? thanks.

Your team doesn't look bad, but I don't think it wins the league. Peavy, Perez, Buehrle and Radke should all deliver anf hopefully Bronson Arroyo does too. The problem is you lack depth at both hitting and pitching. IF one guy goes down, you're sunk, especially in the pitching department. See if you can get another SS and another hitter just for depth and go for another pitcher as well, either anoth SP or a reliver who will get saves (again, just for the depth).

little typo, this is a 12 team league, and the waiver wire is a little shallow right now. dont know who i should trade. what do you think of Frasor on the jays, he might get some saves if he is made the closer, he is on the ww

Your offense is pretty nice no real flaws but your pitching lack a second closer. You should try to trade for low level closer with job security. A top closer would help even more but u probably have to give up a core player in return and it probably not worth it for u. If u able to trade for a closer your team should be fine. Also drop tomko, he horrible.. Your better off with a middle reliever etc M. Gonzalez, Hawkins, Gordon.
