Dickie Thon would have been a great one if he had not caught that fastball in the eye.

Since when did the stro's have a memorable shortstop? For me its three guys who define Astro's; Ryan, Biggio, Bagwell

Oh there are so many more great players than those three...
The pitchers alone....JR Richard, Mike Scott, Don Wilson, Joe Niekro and outfielders Jim Wynn, Cesar Cedeno, Jose Cruz..
As for the shortstop Thon was going to be a great one...until he got hurt.
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!

I like Thon and Biggio. You can't go wrong with Mike Scott either.

Great list, I'd drop Ferguson and put Biggio in there at catcher and add Charlie Kerfeld to the RP list.

The guy was classic : "When Kerfeld, whose uniform number was 37, learned that Jim Deshaies had signed for $110,000 in 1987, he asked for and received $110,037.37 plus 37 boxes of orange Jell-O. Coming to the ballpark, he wore such things as pink high-tops or a Rambo fatigue outfit"

What about Norm Miller? He joined the team the year the Astrodome opened and he's got a book out that's hilarious. It's got some players' names that would make great trivia fodder for every Astros card collector. Check it out. "To All My Fans from Norm Who" You can get it at normwho.com You'll laugh your ass off.
