"A common claim that I hear is that you can find late round bargains at OF and 1B easier than at some of the more scarce positions."
This is especially true for 1B if its a mixed league with 10-14 teams. You have 11 power hitting 1Bs. Counting 1Bs that qualify at other positions you have 16. So you can wait a long time to fill your 1B slot if you dont have a 1B preference. Outfield isnt as clear cut because not all quality OFs are power hitters. So youre not necessarily guaranteed a power OF if you wait too long and you have 3 slots to fill. So your wait time in OF will vary depending on what your plans are and what others are doing.
Of course Pujols is going to be better than a later round 1B, but there's only one Pujols. Many of the remaining 1Bs are fairly equal in production. There isnt a big difference between the next 5-6 1Bs. There isnt a big difference between the 5-6 after that either. So you can wait before you draft a 1B depending which batch of 1B you're willing to live with.

I sent you a PM a couple of weeks ago about writing an article, but I never got an answer.
I love mock drafts.
