i think it is hilarious myself and i could care less about either the sox or yanks, but that is what they get for putting it up for auction.......

i do imagine his bid will be rejected though.......

Yeah, I read this on ESPN.com earlier today. It's awfully funny and they really do deserve it for pulling such a stupid ploy. The whole idea of the auction is really just whorish in my opinion.

I understand why they wouldn't want to go through with it but filnd it in poor tastes if they can pick and choose which names to use or not. That is assuming that they are all clean.

Delaware North Companies is pleased to announce that it has negotiated an amicable settlement on the single-day FleetCenter naming rights for Tuesday, March 1 and will re-name the venue the 'JimmyFundCenter'... settling (for now) a more than 25-year rivalry between two Harvard alums.

Jerry Rappaport, Jr. of Needham, MA offered to trump his buddy's intial bid by donating an additional $6,275 to the charitable effort. The grand total of $8,600, in recognition of the 86-year-old broken curse, will go directly to the Jimmy Fund. It is expected that both friends will be together at the JimmyFundCenter on March 1st to present their donation to the charity

I don't see why the couldn't do it....there was nothing announced there for March 1...so who was gonna see it.... :-b

I think it is ashame that they would reject that name. Not being a yanks or sox fan I think if the guy won and wanted to call it for one day after jeter than he should be allowed
