God finally showed Jays fans some mercy and Faulds was canned. Good riddance!
Yeah and Campbell looks to be the front-runner for the play-by-play job, which is too bad in a way. I had been hoping Sportsnet would go with a pure baseball guy instead of just a multi-task employee already on their network.
And Candiotti will only be doing certain road games, but he shouldn't be doing any. We need guys who have TO bias and actually care about how the team does.
I didn't mind Candiotti. From memory, I think him and Cerutti sounded the same. It's sad to have to replace Cerutti.... but at least Faulds is gone. He knew nothing about baseball, he was there for his voice which was annoying anyway. Hopefully it isn't the same with Campbell, but he's "cooler" than Faulds so it should be more entertaining even if he doesn't know as much about baseball as Candiotti and Cerutti. At least it's not Toth or some chick doing the games though.
BTW does anybody remember that goofy smile Pat Tabler always had during the pre-game? He'd do that stupid smile, stare passionately into the eyes of whoever was talking, and nod his head in approval for the ENTIRE pre-game show. So pretty much he's baseball's version of Kelly Hrudey.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
I heard an interview with Campbell on the FAN a few days ago. He sounds pretty good but he doesn't really seem to know his stuff. Interestingly, he said that he does most of his research on internet baseball bulleting boards. He confessed to being a long time member of battersbox.ca. I've checked it out, not that impressed, but Campbell has agreed to do an interview with them. Is anybody interested in having Campbell do an interview with the Cafe?
I guess I'm in the minority, I really didnt mind Faulds. I'll definitely miss Cerutti though, I thought he had a good voice and gave good inside baseball information. Candiotti is good as well, Tabler has to be one of the worst I've ever heard. He adds absolutely nothing, much like Marilyn Bodogh on the curling telecasts.
Has anyone heard if Sportsnet will be broadcasting any of the Jays exhibition games? If so, when?

that would be awesome.
he can't be that bad, but maybe he'll do some ST games first, so we know what to expect from him come this season.
I'm surprised SN ON doesn't have even more games showing. I hate seeing the sched during the season and knowing that on one of the other channels there is baseball on, and I get a fishing show.

for some reason, out of the 5 ST games i get here, 3 involve the Braves.
will sportsnet be carrying the sunday night games again this year?
thnx for the link ensanimal.
all those ST games and only 2 jays' games...
i would guess they'd be carrying the sunday night games this year again, but i'm not sure. too bad i can't afford that MLB extra innings package...i do, however, get all sporstnet channels, so i can get some mariners games. or i can become a braves fan and watch TBS all summer.
