Great ideas Mook.

You could also argue a compromise--a limited protection of intellectual property, sort of like patents. I'm not sure how it would be regulated, but I'm sure it could be done.

I personally believe in "intellectual property" if you are putting that phrase to music or movies or tv shows. These are products made by people and we are essentially stealing their products.

Intellectual property is already difficult to protect. I doubt it would be a good idea to compromise it any further.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

yo geniuses - I thought that the issue was: come up with an argument against making file sharing illegal.

I'll give you one thing, the "we should all be communists" was definitely creative. I'm not sure how well it would hold up in court though. ;-)
