Minor league drafts

Ok, I'm not even done yet with my league's auction draft (which I should add I missed the first round or two of bidding because I took over a team that dropped out late but ...). But I just got the minor league draft order and I have the #2 pick. It's great that something went my way but since I've never had a minor league draft before I've never had to research it much. Guys like Kazmir and Upton are already drafted in the league so I'm not positive how the system works (I joined the league yesterday). But any advice on who I should look for with the #2 pick? Thanks in advance.

The concensus is pretty much either Felix Hernandez, Delmon Young, Ian Stewart or maybe even Prince Fielder. I personally prefer Delmon, if you look at the Shockwave Dynasty League you'll find a ML draft going on that may be able to help you out. Also here is a debate on the #1 Minor leaguer

Yeah..you gotta go: Felix Hernandez, or Delmon Young 1st or 2nd.. after that many opinions will differ...

I like: Ian Stewart,Andy Marte,Prince Fielder to round out my top 5.....

Is this the league's first year? Who's been taken?

I'd go with Delmon Young from that list, personally.

It's the first year of an auction league draft (and I'm having a hell of a time figuring out my system). The minor league draft is obviously just a regular draft though and I just found out I have the #2 pick. So unless something weird happens I'll have either Hernandez or Young. I'm still kind of researching both but the decision will likely be made for me.

With the second pick, you have to take whoever is left of Delmon or Hernandez.

I'd take a hitter for sure, probably Young if he's there. If not I like Fielder and Stewart (especially in COL).
