I am in a draft right now and I am a pretty big newb when it comes to baseball. Both V-Mart and Javy have been selected but Pudge is still on the board at my pick (7.1). I wouldn't mind having him but Wagner is also there for the taking. I could build a dominant closer duo coupling him with Rivera (only closers gone are Lidge, Gagne, Rivera, Nathan, and K-Rod). Which would be the better choice?
Here is my team so far.
Albert Pujols
Pedro Martinez
Scott Rolen
Mariano Rivera
Carlos Lee
Rich Harden
Much obliged.
BTW, for all you in the Cafe Challenge, I don't care if you see who I'm choosing between.

I would go with Pudge seeing you already have a stud in Rivera. Then later you can add a mid tier closer.
Let's play two.

Pudge.
You do not have a catcher yet - why not grab one of the best. Rivera is getting old and may be on his way to wash out lane, in my opinion.

Sounds good to me.
Pudge is a pretty consistent player...I don't think you'll have much to worry about since you already have a top reliever.
You shouldn't have let Mookie try to dictate your thinking.

LOL, in the other drafts I have done I have been pretty closer happy, but I have to stay on my toes with this group.

I'd have went with Wagner, but then I'm leary of Pudge coming off the 'roids.
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!
