Best h2h setup? The right number of categories?

Postby jellyroll » Thu Feb 24, 2005 7:19 pm

I'm in a yahoo h2h league and several of the guys want to expand to 10x10 from a 5x5 :

add
triples, doubles, walks,cs, errors
L, hld, CG, Whip, IP

existing:
Ave, runs, rbis, steals, hr
W, Sv, K, Era, Whip

not sure if this makes it more interesting or less. Any insight? similar experiences?

Really screws up my projections & rankings since not all categories were included.

Adding IP as a category can be very dangerous in a HTH league without a transaction limitation. It can make adding Loses completely unimportant.

it makes it nearly impossible to evaluate players and to determine during your draft how you are doing in all 10 categories. I think you listed WHIP twice. I wonder why you would take a very good league configuration and turn into something you'd see in a noobie league.

We played with IBB and BB last year and it was a huge joke. The kid with Bonds obviously had 1 up on the rest of us all year, and when he came in 1st, bragged about it to no end. This year we kept triples and singles in, because it makes it more interesting. Our league is more weighted toward batters, but the commish decided to throw SHOs in there for fun. Get one, win the entire week. It's a bit moronic, but for highly competitive friends like us, we kinda like it.
