Porno for Pyros wouldn't have gotten out of Round 1.

Violent Femmes and Talking Heads didn't qualify for this.

Flaming Lips actually got bumped at the last second for Alice In Chains. Sure I could've bumped Ween or Soul Coughing but Lips would've been a Round 1 casualty just like them anyway.

I understand not everyone likes all the bands in this, but you got to respect the fact that both Green Day and White Stripes have received plenty of commercial and critical praise during their careers.

I voted for White Stripes. I like Green Day but am I bigger of fan of the Stripes. I have all four of their albums. I'd say White Blood Cells is my least favorite and De Stijl is my most favorite. If you're just judging them based on "Fell In Love With a Girl" I recommend you listen to more of their stuff before you judge. Although I don't think it'll matter for some you. The whole post-punk/garage rock thing isn't everybody's cup of tea.

Does concept mean more then three chords?

LMAO, finally acs and I are starting to agree! Neither of these bands are worth a damn IMO. I'll give credit to the White Stripes for being original I guess, but that doesn't mean they'll get my vote.

I love how everyone is so high and mighty when it comes to music. Three chords this, and three chords that. Whatever you say. It's enjoyable to listen to, and that to me makes a good song, not it's musicality.

Ahhhhh :-o I clicked the wrong band. I voted for Green day but I meant to vote for the White Stripes. They're like no other band in my collection. When Elephant came out I felt it was some of the most refreshing music in recent years. Love the 70's fuzz!

If I want Punk, I go for the Clash. Green Day is baby-punk IMO.
